Father's Day has crept around the corner once again, and boy, are Dad's difficult to buy for! If your Dad is anything like mine, he will insist that he does not need anything.
He is not a fashionable dad, a golfing dad or even a gadget dad. So what on earth do I get him? Thinking of a new gift idea becomes increasingly impossible each year, and chances are you end up getting him the same old present. The key is to not leave it to the last minute (all the lovely personalised gifts won't arrive in time for Sunday!), but here you are, unprepared and in need of help. Don't fret! Here are my top suggestions that will guarantee your spot in Dad's good books…
🚀 EXPERIENCE DAYS Tick every box with an Experience Day – trust me, you can do no wrong. (It’s also easy to write up in a nice card so you have something to give on the day).
Don't pick something completely off the wall like walking Alpacas in the Lake District. It may be funny at the time, but the likelihood of your dad driving to the Lake District to walk with fuzzy creatures is far from reality! Do stick to an activity that you can do together, pick a common interest and don't forget to consider his physical fitness. Create some memories – chances are Dad will appreciate this far more than any material object.
Not On The High Streethave really upped their game; going beyond the usual 'hot air balloon for two' and 'quad-biking' experiences, you may find on other experience websites such as Virgin.
The options are almost limitless and they have hand selected some lovely alternatives, how does an ‘Urban Beekeeping and Beer’ experience grab you? Perhaps your old man is more of a ‘Make Your Own Bacon’ kind of guy. Stargazing in Wales is an option, as is living a day as a blacksmith, wild food foraging with a Masterchef winner Matt Follas and even a day at ukelele school!
Tip - don't just search through the Father's Day experiences on offer, there are more great days out if you type in ‘experiences’ into the search bar.
🚀 SUNDAY LUNCH WITH A DIFFERENCE Let Jetpack arrange a Father’s Day lunch with a difference. We will organize an amazing chef to cook up a storm from the comfort of your family home - created from locally sourced ingredients and complete with delicious wine and cocktails. This is the perfect way to spend quality family time together, invite all the family and get the party going. Set the mood with a Spotfify music playlist, check out the ready made Fathers Day playlists such as ‘Fathers Day Love’, but for maximum kudos I would advise making your own – get a few of his favourites on there and I’m sure he will thank you for it.
Alternatively, if you are looking for restaurant recommendations and assistance with securing a table, please do get in touch and we help you make arrangements.
🚀 THE GIFT OF TIME We are not talking time travel or invisibility, but why not treat him with our Pay as You Go PA services, whether he requires help at home or at work. Jetpack offers both personal and business services starting from £40 per hour.
🚀 A DIGITAL ASSISTANT For all the gadget and music dads out there, a Sonos One is a sound bet for a smart speaker. It sounds better than an Amazon Echo and has the same integrated software as an Alexa assistant. At Jetpack we integrate personal technology with our personal assistant services to ensure you are always digitally connected (that includes diary, social media, accounts and online shops). It's the perfect present to team with our PA services! * Prices start from £199.
